Advent

Advent is a special time; it is a time of waiting as we prepare for the birth of Jesus. To help the children understand the meaning of Advent I have prepared a "Joy Bag" which each child may take home for one night to share with his/her family.

The "Joy Bag" contains the following:

A Set of Instructions	An Advent Wreath and candles
The Christmas Story	A nativity
A candy tin (candies included!)	A tape with Advent and Christmas songs
A journal The journal encourages you and your family to share your thoughts and feelings about the celebration. I encourage the whole family to share their thoughts with words and pictures.

For each week during Advent, the set of instructions varies. Following is a sample of each week's activities:
