Stories of Jesus Written by the children in Mrs. Vaage's Grade 1 Class We had been reading the New Testament stories from a Children's Bible over a period of several months. The children wanted to show their parents how much of the story of Jesus they had learned and could share by writing their ideas.
The Story of Jesus By Brent Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a stable. In the stable was Mary and Joseph and animals. A star was at the top of the world. He lived in Nazareth when he grew up. He made people better that were sick. Guards took him away. They hung him on a cross. He died. He came back to talk to people. He went to heaven.
The Story of Jesus By Chloe Once there was a man called Joseph and a girl called Mary. They rode a donkey to Bethlehem. Jesus was born in a stable. Jesus grew up in Nazareth. Jesus told stories about God. Jesus was nailed up on a cross. There were two men beside him. But the other one didn’t laugh at him. He said, “We did something bad and I am sorry.” “I forgive you. You will come with God that day.” They killed him and the next day they buried him. Guards guarded him. Then Mary came into the place he was and there was an angel. She said, “Don’t be afraid. Jesus has risen from the dead.” One day Mary was crying. Then there was Jesus. He said, “Go tell them I have risen from the dead.”

One day he told another story that was an even better one. 20 years after some of them didn’t like him so they nailed him to a cross. Then they cut his body and put it in a wrapping and put him in a tunnel. One day Mary and her friend opened the tunnel and all that they saw was an angel sitting there beside the wrapping. He said don’t be afraid Jesus is in Gods hands right now and he will come down. The end.

Go to Bethlehem and you will have a baby there and you will name him Jesus. When he was about 12 years old he made miracles for people who needed them. When he was older he made lots of miracles. When he was walking he came to some people that had leprosy and he cured it. All the men said thank-you to Jesus. There was no wine and then Jesus made a miracle he put more wine in the jar. He rose from the dead. He said to Peter you will not know me he said. He did another miracle. There were 6 fish and three pieces of bread and when it kept going around there kept being more bread and fish. It was such a miracle and when Jesus did rose again and he kept going back to everyone but it was the Holy Spirit. Then he disappeared in a bunch of clouds blocking the view and it was the Holy Spirit. It was time for Jesus to go but he will come again said the angel. The end.

One day an angel came down to earth and said don’t be afraid you are going to have a baby! When you have your baby you will name him Jesus. She married Joseph. Mary hugged Jesus. I arose from the dead. Then Jesus said I have to leave. “Why” said Mary. Because I want to tell my disciples what happened. Then you can leave now. You have to promise you will visit me again.

She thought it was a guard. “Guard, please show me where you have put my Lord.” “Mary.” “Jesus!!” “Go and
tell everyone that you have seen me!” She ran to tell everyone the good news. The next day a big cloud came by. It said, “This is my Son.” He rose up to heaven and a fiery gas touched the disciples on their heads. No one ever knew what the Holy Spirit was like. And that is what happened!

It was a long trip but when they got there, there was only one place that was open. It was just a small stable. After Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph went to Nazareth. In Nazareth they went outside. When Jesus was grown up there was a party. The people in the party ran out of wine and Jesus turned the water into wine. It was a miracle.

He also saw some people coming toward him. “Please, please help this man.” Jesus said, “Get up and walk. Carry your mat.”
