| The children listened to several versions of the Christmas Story. As the Christmas Story unfolded, the children discovered that each individual, place, animal, etc. made the Christmas Story possible. After several weeks of engaging in discussions about the Christmas Story, the children brainstorm events, people, animals and places that were an" important" part of the Christmas Story. Each child was then asked to write about and illustrate his/her chosen idea. The children illustrated their personal page using chalk. The individual pages were assembled to make a class book: "THANK YOU GOD FOR CHRISTMAS." They began their personal page with the sentence starter "Thank you God for..." |
